Great Western Tour
Calgary to Victoria, 11 Days
Day 1: Calgary Sightseeing
Arrive at Calgary International Airport, pick up by motorcoach and transfer to your hotel. Spend the evening exploring downtown Calgary and the shops of Stephen Avenue.
Day 2: Calgary to Banff
Enjoy a half day city tour, learn about the history and heritage of the City of Calgary then enjoy a scenic drive through Alberta foothills into the Canadian Rockies to the town of Banff where you will spend your second night. You will have free time this evening to explore downtown Banff.
Day 3: Banff to Lake Louise
Today we will do a driving tour of Banff, which will include seeing the historic Banff Springs Hotel, Bow Falls, Hoodoos, and a visit up Sulpher Mountain via the Banff Gondola. We will enjoy lunch in Banff then head to beautiful Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. Lake Louise is our stop for the night.
Day 4: Lake Louise to Jasper
Today we will travel up one of the most scenic highways in North America, the Icefields Parkway. We will visit Crowfoot Glacier, Bow Lake, and Peyto Lake before stopping at Saskatchewan River Crossing for lunch. After lunch we will continue on the Icefields Parkway to the Columbia Icefields were we will stop and you will have a chance to tour onto the Athabasca Glacier. After our Glacier tour we will continue north on the Icefield Parkway to Jasper with a stop at Athabasca Falls. We will be spending the night in Jasper, a world class Canadian Rockies resort town.
Day 5: Jasper to Kamloops
Today we will visit beautiful Maligne Lake and Maligne Canyon, then head west on the Yellowhead Highway where we will stop for lunch at Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. After lunch we will continue our onwards south towards the town of Kamloops via Highway 5. Kamloops is our stop this night.
Day 6: Kamloops to Whistler
This morning we leave Kamloops and head west again on the Trans-Canada Highway to the town of Cache Creek where we will stop at the Jade store. After our stop in Cache Creek we will continue west on Highway 99 into the town of Lillooet, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch we continue touring west along scenic Highway 99 to the beautiful town of Whistler. Whistler will be our stop this night.
Day 7: Whistler to Victoria
Today we leave Whistler and travel down the scenic Sea to Sky Highway into West Vancouver where we will have a stop at the Capillano Suspension Bridge. After our time at Capillano we will travel to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal where we will cross over to Vancouver Island on the BC Ferries. Upon our arrival on Vancouver Island we will travel south to the town of Chemainus to view the world famous wall murals. After our time in Chemainus we will continue south into the magnificent city of Victoria for our 2 night stay.
Day 8: Victoria Sightseeing
Enjoy a spectacular half day city tour today. The tour will end downtown Victoria where you will be able to spend the rest of the day at your leisure exploring. Some of the recommended highlights to visit are the Royal BC Museum, the British Columbia Legislative Buildings, historic Empress Hotel and of course the Victoria harbour front.
Day 9: Victoria to Vancouver
We depart Victoria this morning and head to the beautiful Butchard Gardens, where you will be able to spend two hours wandering around these amazing gardens before boarding the coach again and head to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal where you will take the BC Ferries to Vancouver.
Day 10: Tour of Vancouver
Once in Vancouver you will enjoy a half day city sightseeing tour including Stanley Park, Granville Island, China Town, and Gas Town. We will then check into our hotel for the evening
Day 11: Vancouver Departure
We will say goodbye to our new friends as we head to the Vancouver Airport for your return home
